Observer Columnist Joe Marusak had a nice blurb about Mooresville's newest wine bar, The Wine Dive.
The owner, Thor Chitow, describes The Wine Dive as a "wine saloon," as it offers 40 wines by the glass -- but also has an extensive selection of beer on tap.
The Wine Dive already has some stiff competition in the Lake Norman Area. At my last count (let me know if any of these have closed -- or if I'm missing any) other wine bars in the area include: Corkscrew, XO Tapas and Wine Bar, The Wine Cellar, The Wine Loft and 202 North Main Street. It's sorta a crowded field, but I wish them luck -- as far as I'm concerned you can't have too much wine in ANY area!

MOORESVILLE Bar and restaurant industry veteran Thor Chitow has opened a wine bar and lounge called The Wine Dive off Interstate 77 Exit 33.
Chitow describes his new venture as a "wine saloon" offering 23 beers on tap and 40 wines by the glass.
Various appetizers are offered, including hummus, smoked-fish dip, antipasto skewers and spinach artichoke dip.
Daily specials include a $5 tasting of three wines on Wednesdays, $2 pints on Thursdays and $2 glasses of wine on Sundays.
The Wine Dive is the first business together for Chitow and his wife, Kat, he said. Thor Chitow is a South Florida native who has worked in bars and restaurants for about 20 years.
The Wine Dive also features a solid-wood, custom-stained pool table shipped from California.
Bartender is Chantelle Gervais.
